I am a direct descendent of Mary Mann and Abraham Day married in Morris County, NJ in 1834. My father Richard Day has researched our lineage back to these two and the Ramapough Indians. Mary Mann was born on November 15, 1811. How do we confirm our Ramapough blood and become active members of the tribe’s battle to be recognized. Even though my father has since retired, he was a high-ranking official within the US Government. He might be able to help. He is going to be vacationing near the Ramapo Mountains April 17, 2008 thru April 21st and would like to research our Ramapough lineage then. Any advice on where to begin would be helpful.

Wanted to say hi from the daughter of Donald Eugene Van Dunk and Nellie Randolph. My daughters Marguerite and Jordan Maria also say hello. Love all of my family.

My mom was Betty (Harris) Kennedy, daughter of Hilda VanDunk and Arthur Kennedy. She was the neice of Ann VanDunk. She was the sister of Joyce (Milligan) Van Dunk, Alida "Putsie" (Crouch) VanDunk, Norvan VanDunk, Edgar "'Woody" VanDunk and Art "Doody" Kennedy.

I have little to no information about my mom's side of the family. I know that she and her side of the family are American Indian, which makes me one as well. I would love to know who and what I am so that my heritage doesn't die as my mom did on June 21st of this year.

I would live to come visit, learn and appreciate who I am from relatives I've never met. I have an older brother and two younger sisters. I have two daughers (14 & 13) who should know their heritage as well.
